You know, that got me thinking when I read it. To be clear, the "extra baggage" term was a reference to a what she had called the ex bf earlier in the thread (a number of day ago). Still, it's a little weird that she would call him that when she's mourning, even if she meant it ironically.
I interpret it as a sense of conflict. In one way she is glad he is gone but she knows feeling that way is wrong.
