The iPad may not be perfect for everyone. But it is darned near perfect for what it is and certainly more worth having than any Netbook on the planet. So far as it being a gimmick, gimmicks don't last. Gia, do you want to put your money where your mouth is and predict the date of the iPad's demise?

I'll make my own prediction, it will be a gargantuan hit and it will transform the computer industry -- it and it's imitators will be with us for decades. Already every company out there including Google, Microsoft, HP, Nokia is frantically working on an iPad clone. They sure don't think the iPad's a gimmick.

To use one is to get one -- in both senses of the word.
