I'm calling b.s. on the permanent numbness sting stuff. If they just got stung by it how do they know it's permanent. There is nothing in those Wikipedia links that even suggest it is poisonous.

Yeah there are a lot of youtube links of private home aquarium owners that have trouble with these type of worms albeit on a much smaller scale and they seem to know as much about them as these professionals running the aquarium. These aquarium people also seem to be missing the boat on a marketing idea here. I worked there i would throw a camera on the tank with the worm and put it on the web with adverts(live giant worm cam).

I see another giant worm photo has made an appearance.

There does appear to be some kind of mucas-like slime in the background over Quataffy's head though.
