Yeah I knew Trahan was JR. There was a rumour that it was actually Johnny Horton for a few years and you can even find the JR songs attributed to Horton on some sites(I'm sure his estate is delighted). ps. The song "Alabama Nigger" is often credited to JR but is rumoured to be Waylon Jennings. He was an absolute right-wing bigot according to sources.
