I know that not everyone is impacted the same way by trauma but we, as a society had to draw the line somewhere and we drew it at 18. Obviously the law needs to draw some kind of distinction between adults and children. So assuming 18 is a reasonable demarcation between childhood and adulthood, and since you seem to have no trouble identifying deviant sexuality and pedophilia when you see it, let me ask you...
Would you call a 19yr old male who had sex with a 17yr old female a "molestor" or "sexual predator"? Would he likewise be considered a "predator" if he were also 17? Do you think the experience of having sex with a 19yr old male would be more "traumatic" to this girl than having sex with a partner the same age? Given that the average age that women lose their virginity hovers around 17, and that girls generally are more attracted to older males... would you say that most women are victims of this trauma? Do you believe that a 17yr old male would be just as traumatized by sex with an older woman? The law says anyone under 18 is a "child", and anyone over 18 is an adult. You say "adults having sex with children is wrong", so did you mean that an 18yr old having sex with a 17r old is "wrong" in the sense of being illegal?... or that it's immoral?
Also, you ignored the question of all the other countries that risk permitting younger teens to have consentual sex. Are these nations doomed to devolve into barbarism due to all the rampant psychological trauma they're inflicting on their children?
