Cruel and terrible show...addicts should just be allowed to hit rock bottom, then either die or pull themselves up on their own (which ultimately is the ONLY way any of them survive.) Interventions just corner an already fucked up animal, and get them to do something for all the wrong reasons, namely to just get everyone off their fucking back.
Last month, I gave Duff a story for his chronicle of weirdness, where I told him about a night in Vegas I had with a stripper/escort friend who unfortunately happened to be in really bad withdrawal from Vicodin and Percs.
Bottom line, feed the need....everyone is happier as a result.

Forcing people into rehab is an easy way to ensure they will con their way thru, and go right back to whatever it is they love first chance they get.
I let the person/friend/whore ASK me for help before offerring or providing it...whether she wants a loan for 30 days in a Vermont Rehab center, or money to buy smack to keep from going into withdrawal, I oblige...I am da burglar and I am here to help.

Sorry Burg but its very very hard to do it alone. I've tried and have been very very unsucessful. 12 step meetings do work if you want it bad enough. Surround yourself with positive people who have lots of time under their belt. Do your steps and hang on, cause its a fucking roller coaster, but it can be done.
Go watch Celebrity Rehab, that is the funniest shit ever. I wish they all were going to the sober living so that we can follow them and they can make another show. But only 3 went.

Last nite was the re union, I missed it, Im sure it will be on a million more times. Mary Carey says she dont drink anymore (ONLY WINE SPRITZERS...LMAO) and no more Xanax. Yeah right.
It cant be done alone, you will always need someone who has been there to give you their experience stregnth and hope. If you want it bad enough, you will eventually get it. Relapse is part of recovery. Read the Big Book, or the NA Recovery Big Book.
I would love to stay high for the rest of my life, but its not the way I want to be remembered. I dont wanna die and all they can say at my memorial is "Oh well she was a junkie bitch".

Other than the "pervie wheelchair" guy part, this is an awesome post...however, in the case of the "Daddy's" out there I probably would be quite popular with most of them...afterall where else would they find a dude who obviously isn't going to violate their little princess who also can afford to at least give her a decent car and a room full of stuffed animals?
The drugs? well as I have been saying, and as you aptly demonstrated G, the chick(s) are going to do what they want no matter what, until they decide on their own to stop. Either way, I am there for them...if they want to get clean, I will help them detox (BTW - chicks coming off Heroin, after the first week when the shits go away, they have INCREDIBLE sex drives as the libido wakes up from its Heroin snooze) ... and of course, on the other side of the coin, there is nothing more special or poignant than cuddling with a chick who has just shot up, or popped about 10 percocets...everyone remembers the Movie Traffic where drug czar Michael Douglas' precious little princess gets hooked on heroin and after the Black Dope dealer shoots her up in the foot, they fuck passionately ... Yes I checked myself in, I was not forced in. Though those close to me certainly thought I needed to go, they knew I wouldn't listen to anyone until I was ready. The problem with sobriety is that it's for people who WANT it, not necessarily for people who NEED it. I needed it years ago, but I had to hit my bottom for me to finally want it bad enough to really go through with it.
And as Renfield mentioned, it is hard to do it alone. Some can-- I had a friend who did-- but I could not. I did need a lot of support from friends and family, and I got more than I could have asked for. (If anyone remembers, XPT was actually surprisingly supportive!) The best thing I got from sobriety was some new, incredible friends who have really carried me through this last year. I have an amazing support group of people in my life now, and I am so grateful for that.

What night and time is this show actually on? I have an Eastern European version of Tivo (it's called Tivant), and need specifics (Greenwich Mean Time, please) and a half pound of coal in order to record important events.

I'm a bit bored so I looked into it for you.
According to Tivo, there are two episodes on A&E every Monday at 8 & 9PM repeated at Midnight & 1AM. I'm pretty sure there's a "Pacific" version of A&E so the times should be the same in Portland.
This week "Heidi & Michelle" are at 8PM. The description from Tivo is:
"A woman finds herself addicted to plastic surgery and compulsive shopping. A woman admits to trading sex for drugs."

Monday, I watched two hours of this show (early-boob-molested-devoloping meth addcit/boring shopping/plastic surgery addict/cancerous alkie) and was quite depressed.) Don't think I will schedule it's recording. My angst was canceled Friday with the all-Portland-channel broadcast of the half-Mexican guy giving his recommendation to the half-Black guy... it seemed kind of special, but I had to go off to work...
