What do the stars actually mean? Scout.com (sports message boards) use a 5-star system as well, but someone who has a 1 or 2-star rating would be considered a below average poster. Those with 3 stars would be considered mediocre. However, it seems that on XPT, even one star indicates that the poster has a positive (above the mean) rating. Is that true.



Other than what I typed above I'm not sure what to say, but I'll give it a shot. If you have a lot of votes and only one star people think you're lame or don't like you/your posts. If you have a lot of votes and five stars people obviously approve of you and your posts. Define 2,3,4, stars accordingly.
