OK, so two of you gave me some grief about not including certain porn bloggers in a thread intended to demonstrate what a douchebag Skurt Locklaw can be. No problem. Here's a thread dedicated solely to the dudes who bang out the porn gossip and scoops day in and day out. You motherfuckers come correct with your takes on these dudes. If I forgot someone, sorry: fill it in.
Blogger: Gene Ross

Plus: At or near the top of the pile. Gets lots of scoops. Conversational style of writing is comfortable, like you were sitting down to drink with someone at the local pub.
Minus: Odd coupling with Wankus and Skeeter Kerkove.

Good idea and good post. But you left out one of my favorites: Blogger: Mike South Site URL: www.mikesouth.comPlus: Written by a porner in the wild, instead of just about porners. Combines criticism of the bidness like Luke, with political rants like Tod (one d) Hunter. Surprising number of scoops considering South lives in Atlanta. Conversational style is easy to read. Has the best guest blogger in the business in the form of Goddess. Minus: Mike goes off on tangents sometimes. Like, tinfoil helmet quality tangents. Anyone who can get Skeet Lackwood to "stage-spill" a drink on them at the AVN Awards is better than okay in my book!

but unlike most of these guys I do it cuz I want to...I don't take ads and I am beholden to nobody so I can speak my mind and I do.
Ya sometimes I get a little out in left field but hey what do ya want .... It don't cost nuthin....If ya want me to be like everyone else I will bombard ya with banner ads yada yada....actually no I wouldn't
Damn am I on a rant...
I do get some good scoops now and then but I cant take credit...I have sources that tell me stuff...some of em good sources

Good post, Willie. I guess I spend as much time reading Duke and Gene as anyone else. I like Mike's take on things, but he doesn't post often enough (which goes to show he has a life).
I like Gram's stuff for the humor and writing style (which he actually has), since he doesn't really focus on gossip.
I used to love JimmyD, tend not to visit the others at all.
But they're all beautifully flawed and subjective in their own individual ways, so you might as well read them all and then sift the truth through the sub texts.

Thank y'all for including me! Smut, thanks for the props, and the you know whats.... lol I think all the blogs are good, just depends on whose style you like and what info you are looking for. I don't consider myself a "gossip" reporter, because I generally print only what I know directly from the source. I rarely print rumors and when I do I clearly identify them as such. I really appreciate my readers and their feedback and they can tell. The whole reason for my CNT site is to connect with people that are interested in the industry. I started it because when you write for mags ( as I have done for 14 <omg, 14?> years now) you don't get a lot of response from readers, and what you write in a mag is at least a month old by the time it is printed. I really like that I can write something and it can be read a few hours later. Plus I can post news I find out immediately. I love the almost instant back and forth with readers and other writers that an internet column gives me. Not as fast as a board like this one, but close enough for me.

WillieD has created a monster. No, I said 'monst er'. Looks like Gene Ross took Willie's comments to heart, and has now begun to blog, after a fashion. His opening salvo in what will hopefully become a long-running series is here. So Luke's got a Luke Ford blog thing going on, Gene's got his own Op-Ed/Memory Lane thing and Gram's still doing what Gram does. Meanwhile, JimmyD may or not be online. That's anyone's guess. Looks like the future of scurrilous porn gossip is safe after all.
