My AEE experience... - 01/13/10 01:36 AM
Consisted mainly of remembering that I hate wearing heels for long periods of time and spending as much time as possible in my sweet-ass suite in the Palazzo. Seriously with the huge bed, flat screen TV and HD movies (still in theaters!) available to rent, I didn't see a reason to leave my room. Well, except for meetings, and parties, and the awards...
I did take advantage of my room and spent all day Friday shooting in it. I was planning on shooting 4 girls, but it worked out that only two could make it, which was actually fine because it always takes me longer to shoot than I think it will. I worked from 10 AM to 8 PM with few breaks. I'd never shot in a hotel room before, and I only brought two lights (a ringflash and portable Quantum flash) so I was interested to see what I came up with. Overall, I was pretty happy with the results, and this may lead to more hotel-room shoots (lord knows it's cheaper than renting out a thousand dollar location for the day).
Anyhow here are a few samples (I shot Tiffany Tyler and Ryan Keely). I was fucking around in Photoshop so the set of Tiffany isn't actually going to look like this, but I thought the filter made it interesting, though I can't decide if I like it or not. I need to sleep on it and see how I feel about it in the morning:
Ryan Keely:
But the best part of the show, and a big reason I went (I kid you not) was seeing my dog Poe blown up on a big poster at the Adam & Eve booth for the movie Rawhide II. (My horse is also on the cover.) I've been shooting the Adam & Eve booth photos and a lot of their boxcovers for about 4 years now, and this time since we shot at my parents ranch I got to put my animals in the photos. My dog is a star, forever immortalized on a porn movie cover!
