They scratch too easily! So many DVDs I hire out are scratched and freeze while I am watching them. Bring back the video!!! Or maybe invent some coating for the DVDs that stops them getting scratched

I receive many unplayable review copies, generally because the DVD was never on or came detached from its spindle, causing the disc to scratch constantly against it while making its way across the country in a box.

They'll be a thing of the past soon enough. Thank god videotape is gone, mostly because of the space it took up. And the rewinding. And the quality.

I still sorta miss LPs. Mostly because of the size of the cover art and the conscious decision you used to have to make to listen to something. In addition to getting up off your ass to flip it over. And they wonder why everyone is so goddamned fat.

I also miss mimeographs. And having my typewriter ribbon run out. And having a teletype number. And shouting for the operator into my candlestick telephone.

I still collect vinyl. Nothing beats listening to music on wax.

Those mimeographs really smelled good when the teacher handed them out fresh from the office.

Pound 3 old style car antennas deep into your skull.

Trust me. It'll work.

Wow.

Looking back on it, I'm actually surprised that they were still using these at the grade school I went to as a kid. Especially considering that the post office and every drug and grocery store had xerox machines in them. Then again, everything in that school was ancient compared to the other schools in the same district.

Don't worry about it ben, you can remove scratches with a little fine grade sandpaper or an emery board. Even if you have DVDs with purely 'cosmetic' scratches (i.e., ones that don't affect the playback), it's best to remove them before wear and tear causes them to grow and start interfering with playback.
