Camera Prices

Has anyone else noticed that the prices for most internet stores that sell video cameras have raised their prices by about 20% or more in the last few weeks...is that inflation or that just the Holiday season approaching...are cameras back to their previous pricing around January?

My guess is that they jack them up for Thanksgiging then drop them back down just before xmas. That way they don't really have to drop them.

that's kind of what I thought too...has anyone here been watching the vid cam market for at least a year to know if this is the pattern?

How much is an average to above average camera going to run these days? What about an editing program??
